Red Lady Papaya Plant
Upgrade your home garden or farm with the Red lady papaya (Carina papaya), a world-renowned hybrid variety famous for its early fruiting, delicious taste, and incredible productivity. Unlike traditional varieties, Red Lady is a self-fertile, dwarf hybrid, making it the perfect choice for both home gardeners and commercial growers. At Pepperhub, we provide healthy, vigorous saplings that are ready to transform your landscape into a fruit-bearing paradise

Why the Pepperhub Red Lady Papaya is a Must-Have:
-
Early & Prolific Harvest: Red Lady is a fast grower, often starting to bear fruit at a height of just 2–3 feet. You can expect your first harvest in as little as 8 to 10 months.
-
Superior Quality Fruit: Each fruit is large (1.5–2 kg), featuring a vibrant orange-red flesh that is exceptionally sweet, aromatic, and firm—perfect for fresh eating or salads.
-
Self-Pollinating: No need to worry about male or female plants! Red Lady is gynodioecious, meaning almost every plant you grow will produce delicious fruit.
-
Disease Resistant: This variety is highly tolerant to the Papaya Ring Spot Virus, making it much easier to grow than local country varieties.
-
Space-Efficient: Its semi-dwarf nature makes it ideal for small backyards and even large containers on sunny terraces.

Success Tips for Your Red Lady Papaya
-
Drainage is Key: Papayas hate “wet feet.” Plant your sapling on a slightly raised mound to ensure water never stagnates around the stem, preventing root rot.
-
Sunshine & Warmth: Place your plant in the sunniest spot available. The more heat and light it receives, the sweeter the fruit will be.
-
Heavy Feeding: Papayas are “hungry” plants. Apply organic compost and a potash-rich fertilizer every 2 months to support the rapid growth of large fruits.
-
Frost Protection: If you live in a region with cold winters, protect your young plant with a cover, as papayas are sensitive to frost.

This is by far the best papaya variety I’ve grown. Being a self-fruiting hermaphrodite variety, every single plant I bought produced fruit—no worrying about male vs. female trees. It started flowering just a few months after planting, and now the trunk is absolutely loaded with large, heavy papayas close to the ground. The flesh is thick, dark orange-red, and incredibly sweet. Highly recommend these saplings.
